Why I think Facebook is becoming more and more popular is that they allow developers to make widgets on their platform. Here is a list of the most popular apps

I believe to make a social network that work and to strive you need to allow your users to add content, then allow developers to add more content which Facebook allows. Myspace is slow to allow developers to add their own content which I think will hurt them in the end.
